There's no law that names PAT testing for landlords. But you must make sure appliances you supply are safe, and a test record is good proof. Some insurers and letting agents ask for it.
Is this the same as an EICR?
No. An EICR checks the fixed wiring and is done by an electrician. PAT testing checks the appliances that plug in.
