How it works

- We test. Every item is checked, tested and labelled PASS or FAIL.
- You get your certificate. Sent by email, with a list of every item.
Every item gets a label
Items that pass get a green label. Anything unsafe gets a red label and is taken out of use, with the reason written down for you.
Each label shows the item's ID, the test date, the next test date and who tested it.
Your certificate
After every job you get a certificate by email. It shows what was tested, what passed, anything that failed and what was done about it, and when each item is next due.

Questions
What is PAT testing?
It's a safety check of electrical items that plug in. We look for damage, then test each item with a calibrated tester.
Is it a legal requirement?
The law doesn't name PAT testing. But the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 say equipment must be kept safe, and testing with records is the usual way to show you've done that.
How often is it needed?
There's no fixed rule. HSE says it should depend on the risk — how the equipment is used and where. We'll suggest a sensible date and write it on your report.
What needs testing?
Anything with a plug or a lead, like kettles, computers, chargers, power tools and extension leads.
